PCS Varsity defeated Flanagan/Woodland 10-4 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three with Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Brad Timm homered off of Rose, driving in one run. PCS captured the lead in the first inning. Justin Post's sac fly scored one run for the chargers. The Chargers knotted the game up at three in the top of the fourth inning.They then scored one run when Josh Hoffman singled with two outs in the fourth inning. PCS scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a home run by Post. Brad Timm earned the win for PCS. He tossed six and two-thirds innings, surrendering four runs, seven hits, and striking out nine. Rose took the loss for Flanagan/Woodland. He threw five innings, allowing five runs, eight hits, and striking out four. Home runs for Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity came when Timm homered in the fifth inning, Post homered in the sixth inning, and Ryan Hauter homered in the fifth inning.The Varsity collected 12 hits. Timm, Hoffman, and Post each collected multiple hits for Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity. Hoffman and Timm each collected three hits to lead the Chargers.
