Peoria Christian Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 2-1 victory over Putnam County on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with the Chargers batting in the top of the tenth when there was an error, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides. Peoria Christian Chargers pitchers struck out eight, while hurlers for Putnam County sat down seven.

Putnam County evened things up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning. Huffstodt drove in one when he singled in the fourth inning. Ryan Hauter earned the win for PCS. He went two innings, allowing zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Bean took the loss for Putnam County. He threw two innings, giving up one run, one hit, striking out three, and walking one.

Josh Hoffman started the game for the Chargers. He went eight innings, surrendering one run, five hits, striking out seven, and walking one. Dzierzynski started the game for Putnam County. He threw eight innings, allowing one run, four hits, and striking out four. Joel Showalter led Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity with three hits in five at bats.
