Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 6-1 victory over Putnam County on Thursday. The game was tied at one with PCS batting in the bottom of the fifth when there was an error, scoring one run. Putnam County captured the lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by Noah Rodman scored one run for Putnam County. The Chargers evened things up at one in the bottom of the second inning. With zero outs in the second inning Brad Timm drove in one run when he homered with a deep shot to right. PCS scored four runs in the sixth inning. The varsity scored on a single by Noah Bennington, a single , and a single by Joel Showalter. Rodman earned the win for PCS. He pitched seven innings, surrendering one run, one hit, and striking out three. Holmes took the loss for Putnam County. He threw two and a third innings, surrendering five runs, six hits, striking out two, and walking one.
