The opportunity continues for us to develop friendship relationships with students from Vladimir, Russia. The Team focuses on the opportunity to model Jesus Christ to a nation that has been very controlled in its history. The PCS Russia Team emphasizes establishing ongoing relationships with students involved in the exchange, their families, and new friends that we meet. Please pray for the Russian leadership as they make plans concerning this exchange. Pray for the leadership at PCS as we determine the role that we should have in this endeavor. Pray for both countries during these times of international uncertainty. |

What are some advantages for the student who is part of a short-term mission’s team? First, the student has an opportunity to observe and be part of a different culture. Second, the student will work on a team that shares the Gospel. As a result, they pray together, study together, minister together, and have fun together. Third and most important, the student will learn to rely on God in a new way concerning financial needs, housing needs, and ministry opportunities. |

The Russia Team 2010 will participate in a changing ministry. The Russians will most likely come to Peoria during late March. After graduation, the PCS team will travel to Vladimir to live with the families of the Russian students involved in the exchange, to participate in and live with Russians in a camp ministry situation, and to worship with Russian believers in a local church. Students will be traveling to the small town of Suzdahl to visit an orphanage, and to do some sight seeing. Students will spend some time in Moscow, where debriefing and more sight seeing will occur. In between these activities, students will have many opportunities to build friendships and Lord-willing share the gospel with past and present members of the Vladimir exchange program. |

The process of Russia Team 2010 selection will begin in September, and be finalized by mid-October. Students will begin the process of fundraising, training in Friendship evangelism, and bonding together in the community of Christ. Students selected for the Russia Team 2010 will be asked to participate in activities to welcome the Russians in March. |
