Anne Kim, Valedictorian, class of 2007: Found her voice through her work with Amerisian Christian Academy of Dongducheon, South Korea. ACA is a school that serves underprivileged students of diverse ethnic backgrounds near an American military base-Camp Casey. Unlike America where diversity is the norm, Korea is mostly homogeneous where ethnic origin is a contentious social issue. Anne, along with the PCS team of volunteers has opened up their hearts to embrace the students of ACA. She has also received kind words of support from Mr. Hines Ward, MVP of Superbowl 38 who's mother is a Korean native and father an African American who had served in Korea. In her college application to Cornell University, she shared her story and the passion that drives her to serve.
