Varsity loses to Weathersfield 10-2

Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity couldn't keep up with Weathersfield and fell 10-2 on Thursday.

Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity took an early lead in the second inning.

Weathersfield took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning.  In the third VanOpdorp tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs, Frank's sac fly scored one run for Weathersfield, and Goodman singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Cone pitched Weathersfield to victory. He allowed three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.  Quagliano and Cheesman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Braden Tilson took the loss for Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity. He went three innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits.

Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity racked up seven hits in the game.  Nick Nielson and Brad Timm each collected multiple hits for Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity.  Timm and Nielson each collected two hits to lead Peoria Christian Chargers Varsity.
