We thank God for the families He calls to join our school community each year, and we look forward to partnering with you as you begin the application process.

Peoria Christian School is a covenant school.

What does that mean?

In biblical terms, a covenant is an agreement that defines a commitment between two parties. At Peoria Christian school, we seek to bring parents, students and the educational institution together through a common pledge to prepare students to lead Christ-like lives through a biblical approach to education.

In covenant Christian schools this means that we require at least one parent be a professing Christian and plugged into a local church. Romans 10:9-10 says “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

Why is it important?

Being a covenant school brings many benefits to the community and allows for a grace-filled partnership between families and the school. It gives the administration, school board, association, and staff a common direction in which to guide the school. It helps us to continually and intentionally be pointed towards Christ in actions and decisions.

It allows for a biblical way to handle conflict and correction. And last but not least, it guards against a world-view where truth is seen as relative – “it is in the eye of the beholder”. Christ is our foundational and absolute Truth and is what guides our covenant community and school.
